Safe Motherhood Program
The goal of our Safe Motherhood program is to reduce the
number of deaths and illnesses associate with pregnancy and
childbirth.
Objectives:

To evaluate new and
existing tools for prevention of maternal mortality and
morbidity, such as the Non-pneumatic Anti-Shock Garment to prevent mortality due
to post-partum hemorrhage.

To examine and improve
health care systems to minimize maternal mortality and
morbidity, and to increase women's safety.

To evaluate
traditional medicines for prevention of maternal mortality and
morbidity, such as the traditional Tibetan medicine Zhi Byed 11, to
help prevent post-partum hemorrhage.
